I just got home from my first day on the job and I LOVED IT. Everyone there is super nice and you can really tell they enjoy where they work. The campus is BEAUTIFUL and the benefits are out of this world. On the tour I learned on-site there is a huge cafeteria, coffee shop, salon, bank, auto shop, concierge, day care, post office, and probably a whole lot more. It really is like a small town - some people probably don't ever leave!
I learned a lot about what my projects are going to be. I am working in the Brand Public Relations department, mostly focusing on consumer engagement. Ironically, this is going to be through blogs and other online forums. I haven't learned the details on everything, but it sounds really exciting. I don't have much of a background in this, so I am going to be learning a lot. Brand PR is in the GCOM department along with imarketing, brand design, promotions and other branches. We all work together and rotate positions every once and a while - so there is still so much to learn!
I'm going to head to target and find some things to decorate my HUGE cubicle. There is so much space, I don't know if I'll ever fill it up. One thing there is plenty of, is food. Free stuff all over the place, so my diet may be harder than I thought (I resisted 3 chocolate chocolate chip cookies and only ate 1. But the others are still in my desk) haha.
