It's been a few days since my last post. Believe it or not, I am finding a lot to do with my spare time around here. I have gotten close with a group of about 10 other interns, and we've explored a lot of the areas and have some fun together. Here's the skinny on the city.
1. Uptown is amazing. It's a lot like Broad Ripple (for my indy friends), but a lot nicer. There are several bars and restaurants, and almost all of them have rooftop decks. There are a lot of really cool shops too! Zac actually just came to find an apartment for next year and he is living literally two blocks from my favorite place for happy hour.
2. Downtown is a lot like Indianapolis. It's an up and coming city, but there still isn't THAT much to do. Of course there are places to eat, drink, and shop - but nothing really unique. However, the architecture is really interesting. All the buildings have a separate look and feel - pretty cool.
3. The lakes are incredible! There is one in Uptown that is perfect for just a few hours of laying out, volleyball, running and just hanging out. About 30 minutes away is Lake Minnetonka. We went boating here last Saturday with a group of 20 interns and it was a BLAST. About 100 boats all tie together and it's just a big party. LOVED IT.
So far, Minneapolis has been fun. Working is picking up too, which is good. I'm starting to finally understand my projects and everything I am going to have to do. I'm going to be in Indy this weekend before we leave for NSAC nationals - I can't wait for that either!!
